Launched on 2013 during the Tokyo motor show, the Nissan IDX NISMO Concept was an innovative idea by the automaker to make a sportier car.
This idea came up to provide a solution to the competitiveness that had imposed by some car-makers in different models such as the Hyundai Genesis Coupe as well as the Subaru BRZ. The Nissan IDX NISMO Concept was inspired by the Datsun 510 that had been produced by the automaker in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Nissan IDX NISMO – Exterior and Interior Design
As earlier stipulated, the Nissan IDX NISMO Concept will resemble the Datsun 510. Despite its resemblance to the early Datsun, the company has initiated some modifications by inaugurating newer technologies that have taken place in the recent past.
The exterior designing looks normal just like any other car. It lacks the C-pillar kick-up and floating roof which are some of the key elements that will be unleashed. Better still, the Nissan IDX NISMO Concept will be equipped with 225/40 19-inch tires. On the exterior also, the small chrome V surrounding the Nissan badge will also be endorsed. To give the desired driving simulation, the Nissan IDX has adopted the red interior Nismo variant.
Engine and Associated Details
The Nissan IDX is to make the car as much sportier as possible. The car will be embedded with side mufflers that will be originating from a 1.6-liter engine. This will be turbocharged and will propel the IDX by continuously variable transmission (CVT). Despite this, it is speculated that the car would have been much far better with a proper manual transmission.
It is still a mystery on the release date of this fantastic IDX NISMO concept. However, if Nissan gives it the green light, figure on the IDx could arrive this year. The price is still unknown.
