Nissan Motor Co., Ltd have outdone themselves once again by releasing a working prototype of the futuristic vehicle concept referred to as Nissan BladeGlider. Its high performance combines zero-emissions to unveil a sports car design that is indeed revolutionary in every sense of the word. The Nissan BladeGlider Concept Concept combines environmentally friendly impact, sports-car driving capabilities, and intelligent mobility. The glide name was coined from its performance that is near-silent in nature and is facilitated by it’s aerodynamic and electric powertrain shape. In a nutshell, it is an electric vehicle for car enthusiasts.
Nissan BladeGlider Concept – Design Features and Technology
The exterior of the Nissan BladeGlider Concept comprises a chassis configuration that is advanced. It is characterized by a wider rear track and a narrow front to aid in achieving optimum handling stability and aerodynamic efficiency.
It has dihedral doors that are high-waisted and rear-hinged to provide both a dramatic exit and entry into the cabin.
It has an open roof design that is reinforced using an integrated roll-over protection structure. This is beneficial as a user can enjoy the exhilaration that comes with a race car that is open-topped while still offering safety of a coupe.
Nissan BladeGlider Concept – Interior:
Its interior has features that reflect those of a true sporting vehicle. It comprises of a 4-point safety harness that is mean for each occupant of the vehicle. It has seats that offer both the driver and the passengers excellent leg and side support. Furthermore, the seats are trimmed using a blend of fabric that is highly tactile and has a coating of epoxy resin. This results in a material that is grippy and tough to comfortably secure in place all the occupants.
Two color trims are utilized for the upper portions of the seat back i.e. Stealth Orange and Cyber Green. The seat is then framed with a reflective material that is silverfish to give it the attractive sporty look. The seats have bases that are black in color and are made of patterned material. The framing trim of the seat cushion is made of a band of orange and green.
It has a steering wheel with a set of knobs designed in the Ferrari Manettino-style. It has a 3-seat layout with the two rear seats positioned on each side of the driver. The central seat has numerous views of screens and 2 screens at each side of the central information panel.
Nissan BladeGlider Concept – Engine Output
The vehicle has the capacity of 3 occupants. It will run exclusively on electric power and therefore has no fuel consumption. Nissan BladeGlider’s power is completely electric. This is with the exception of the powertrain performance delivered for the BladeGlider project by Nissan’s technical partner (Williams Advanced Engineering). Two electric motors (one for each wheel) with 130 kWh capacity is what provides the drive to the rear wheels. It is powered by a lithium-ion battery with 220 kWh capacity.
This vehicle’s amazing system is characterized by torque vectoring. This efficiently controls the torque that is delivered to the driven wheels of the sports car. Torque vectoring also enables the automatic addition of torque to the exterior wheel for balance restoration to incase the car begins to understeer.
It has a top speed that is in excess of 115 mph. and it takes less than 5 seconds to get from 0-60 mph.
Nissan BladeGlider Concept – Release Date and Price
It is set to be released in 2017. The price will be 30,000 sterling Pounds.
