The approaching 2020 Nissan GT-R is a coupe with stunning driving manners and its performances. Far from the affordable car but more affordable than the Ferrari’s or Lamborghini’s models, the GT-R carries its own uniqueness and sportiness. The 2020 model will arrive with minor updates which include improved interior high-tech features, a new Pure trim level, and new night package.

2020 Nissan GT-R exterior is wider and more aggressive
The exterior manages to gain an update two years ago and the same styling applies to the upcoming model. The 2020 Nissan GT-R comes with the famous V-Motion grille that is enlarged. As a result, the front end looks sportier and the airflow is improved. The grille gains a splitter that is placed horizontally and it features matte chrome finishes.
The LED fog lights are moved more to the corners of the fascia and the front spoiler looks very sharp. The hood features a few bumps for the more aerodynamic look while the vents will stay intact. The side profile will remain and the only change is extended side skirts. To the rear, and we can see the same spoiler as before, however, the fascia is different. Generally, the appearance looks wider and more aggressive, and the upcoming model for sure brings more flair than its predecessor.
2020 Nissan GT-R interior design and techs
The interior of an all-new 2020 Nissan GT-R looks astonishing. The dash is fresh and it adds Nappa leather surroundings. The same thing happens with the instrument cluster that now holds a new 8-inch display. Thanks to this display, the numbers of buttons are significantly lower. Shift paddles are also new, but the three-spoke steering wheel remains.
NissanConnect is available and it offers navigation and phone connectivity. An Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are the latest additions while the driver can lock and unlock the car via its smartphone.
The interior is packed with the brown leather materials, most seats and the door panels. Premium trim levels are available in three colors, the old Amber Red and Ivory, while the Rakuda Tan is the new advanced color.
2020 Nissan GT-R powertrain, fuel economy, acceleration and top speed
The existing 3.8-liter V6 engine will remain under the hood. This twin-turbo unit is a proven mill and Nissan will hardly replace it in the coming years. Old engine, but new output, as the horsepower figures are increased by 20. That means the 2020 Nissan GT-R returns 565 HP and 467 lb-ft of torque. This engine comes with EPA city/highway fuel economy of 16/22 mpg.
However, the Nismo model will get the same 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 but changes are evident in its output of 600 horsepower. Fuel economy on this one is 16/22 mpg.
Additionally, the boost from the turbochargers is better and shifting speeds feels smoother. A 6-speed dual-clutch transmission is available. The GT-R model will benefit from a new suspension as well. Latest Nissan’s coupe can reach from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds, while the top speed is rated at 196 mph.
2020 Nissan GT-R price and release date
A starting price of the forthcoming 2020 Nissan GT-R is around $102,500. A special Nismo model will cost over $170,000. This coupe will hit the markets in the first half of 2020.
