The first generations of X-Trail came with a boxy shape, not to say ugly. But in 2014, Nissan redesigned the X-Trail and this model suffered a lot of changes. After all, when it was released, X-Trail offered a modern design with some styling cues from Nissan’s SUV and crossover lineup. Now, the 2019 Nissan X-Trail is getting ready to hit the car markets. With a new V-Motion front grille and revised front fascia, the new exterior looks gorgeous. Boxy rear-end also comes with a more modern look.
The interior also suffered few changes where highlights are new infotainment system and improved legroom. However, there are some doubts about the new engine, as some car experts suggest it isn’t enough power.
2019 Nissan X-Trail will have many Styling Updates
The third-generation of the 2019 Nissan X-Trail is a true refreshment. Thanks to many styling updates, X-Trail visually looks modern and way better than the previous model. Just like Qashqai model, X-Trail gained some muscles and sharpness. Again, just like Qashqai, X-Trail is built on CMF platform or Common Module Family. It is a venture between Renault and Nissan that improve manufacturing efficiency but is also reducing costs. We can say that the new design is more crossover and less SUV.
Up front, the front fascia is looking crisp and nice. The headlights are more angular and are equipped with LED units. Nissan claims that the new lighting system provides a whiter light than the previous Xenon bulbs, and are using almost half the power. The lines look stronger, especially in the part where the front grille and front bumper are. New V-Motion grille comes with more chrome work.
2019 Nissan X-Trail Interior and Tech
Inside the all-new 2019 Nissan X-Trail, there is more space and some new features. At the front, the dash comes with a split design that separates infotainment system and climate controls. The 5-inch color touchscreen comes with an Advanced Drive-Assist Display. The display can also be used for other purposes like showing important vehicle information. Nissan connect system is there and it comes with a 7-inch HD touchscreen. This system helps with connectivity with mobile devices.
The materials inside the cabin are soft-touch, with plenty of chrome, leather, and piano black accents. Between the front seats, a large storage box is placed, and it is big enough to store things like tablet or iPad. The ventilation is improved, mostly thanks to a panoramic roof. Nissan also claims that the legroom is much improved. On top of that, the company says that the second-row passenger will get the best legroom in the crossover segment.
2019 Nissan X-Trail Engine Offers
Just like Nissan announced, the upcoming 2019 X-Trail will run on a 1.6-liter turbocharged DIG-T gasoline engine. This unit produces up to 161 HP. For the European markets will be available 1.6-liter turbo dCi with 128 HP. This is the plan from Nissan who have turned toward smaller drivetrains with higher efficiency.
There is a speculation that another engine will become available, and it is a 2.5-liter gas option that returns 175 HP. Both manual and automatic six-speed transmission will be available.
2019 Nissan X-Trail Price and Release Date
The new 2019 Nissan X-Trail will cost around $38,000. There is four trim available with this crossover, Visia, Acenta, n-tec and Tekna, so the price might go even higher. The main competitors are BMW X3 and Honda CR-V. We expect new X-Trail to debut at the very end of 2018.
