Nissan Sentra is a compact sedan that never gets enough credits. The reason for that lays in the fact that Sentra is for many budget-minded customers. However, the Japanese carmaker is eager to change that. The 2019 Nissan Sentra will arrive as a better sedan in literally every category. The exterior looks much modern and the interior will host the latest tech features.
On top of that, the 2019 Sentra will get a Nismo version as well. The interior will offer ample room and additional safety equipment. The exterior of this 4-door sedan looks sporty and the overall price will be slightly higher than the current model. Under the hood, the base engine is the efficient 1.8-liter engine and the Xtronic transmission is available.
2019 Nissan Sentra exterior improvements
The 2019 Nissan Sentra will arrive with much better proportions and the exterior will look attractive. The design is very similar to the Nissan Altima, which is a good thing as the Altima is one of the best-looking sedans on the market. New 2019 Sentra will now offer a 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheel, power sliding moonroof and LED headlights and taillights.
The curves on the body are looking brilliant, the grille looks sharper and the head units are gorgeous. Of course, Sentra is still far from the most exciting sedan in the compact class, but the latest changes should improve that significantly. Sentra Nismo variant adds more aggressive front end, more dark chrome, bigger bumpers, unique door sills, and a red stripe.
2019 Nissan Sentra can accommodate up to five passengers
Interestingly, the 2019 Nissan Sentra offers one of the largest cabins in its segment. According to latest measurements, Sentra’s interior room could be classified as the mid-size sedan. The interior can accommodate up to five passengers and the legroom is ample in both rows. The trunk offers 15.1 cubic feet of space. The comfort is great and the overall interior layout is perfect.
The cabin is simple and most of the technology features are very intuitive. Upper trims are offering high-quality materials and better comfort. New Sentra will offer air-conditioning, power windows, and Bluetooth as standard. The SV models come with a 7.0-inch Nissan Connect infotainment display that supports latest phone integrations.
2019 Nissan Sentra powertrain details
Under the hood, the upcoming 2019 Nissan Sentra offers two engine choices. Trim levels such as S, SV, SR, and SL will get a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine. This unit generates 130 HP and it comes with a 6-speed manual transmission. An optional 1.8-liter drivetrain adds a CVT gearbox and it is producing up to 124 HP and 125 lb-ft of torque. The only difference between the standard and optional engines is the transmission and the slightly different fuel economy.
However, if you want more power, opt for the SR Turbo or Nismo models. A 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder drivetrain returns 188 horses and 177 lb-ft of torque. You can equip this engine with both manual and automatic transmission.
