The all-new 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage is a very stylish hatchback that comes with a comfortable ride, smooth transmission, and astonishing fuel efficiency. Offered in both hatchback and sedan variants, Mirage still comes short against its more famous rivals such as Ford Fiesta and Nissan Versa.
The exterior needs a complete revamp as almost nothing changed in that department in the last couple of years. The interior is comfy, the styling is great along with the high-tech features. However, the cabin is still using plenty of unwelcoming materials. The 2019 model will get a new touchscreen and rearview camera.
2019 Mitsubishi Mirage exterior design is aging
As we already mentioned, the exterior needs a complete revamp as soon as possible. The styling is years behind the time, and basically, all of the rivals are a step ahead of this hatchback. The 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage will use a big chrome grille that can be found on the sedan model as well. Moreover, the lower bumper comes with very nice details.
The trunk is big too, the cargo space is more than decent and there is a pass-through system that comes handy to fit longer items. Wine Red is the latest exterior paint, along with the Infrared Orange. The 2019 Mirage is among the smallest four-door hatchbacks in this segment, with the Chevy Spark is the only smaller car.
2019 Mitsubishi Mirage interior is improved
The forthcoming 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage will arrive with some interior improvements. That would include a new touchscreen for the audio system and a rearview camera. Moreover, all of the USB ports are relocated and some optional features are standard now. Generally, the cabin offers good comfort but soft-touch materials and surfaces are still missing.
The seats are dressed up in cloth and the seat heaters are great. The air conditioning is standard, just like the tilt steering wheel, power windows, mirrors and doors as well. Keyless entry is now standard and some safety features such as hill-start and stability control. Mitsubishi added two more airbags, so there is now seven of them.
2019 Mitsubishi Mirage engine performance
The 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage will use the same 1.2-liter engine. To be more precise, both sedan and hatchback models will use this 3-cylinder drivetrain. While not that powerful, this engine’s primary goal is to save fuel. This unit can generate up to 78 HP and 74 lb-ft of torque. If you think this is a smooth engine, it’s not.
At idle, vibrating is the first thing to notice and at full throttle, the sounds are squeaking. However, the CVT transmission feels smooth and it works great with the 1.2-liter unit. Also, a manual transmission will be in the offer as well. The 2019 Mirage comes with a great fuel economy that is rated at 35 mpg in the city and 42 mpg on the highway. The numbers that are more often related to the hybrid models.
2019 Mitsubishi Mirage price and release date

While the price is affordable, for slightly more money you can buy a Honda Fit and Nissan Versa that are much better equipped and are more powerful. The 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage will hit the car markets in the last quarter of 2018.
